Registration for new students

Current Information for the Winter Semester 2026/27

  1. First, you need to obtain admission from one of the following six universities: University of Vienna, Vienna University of Economics and Business, TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), Medical University of Vienna, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna
  2. Next, you must register online via the ELVA Student Portal on the Preparatory Programme's website between 31 July and 13 August 2026, even if German is only an additional (supplementary) subject in your admission requirements:

  3. You will then receive an appointment for a placement test, which will take place between 6 August and 17 August 2026.
  4. After the placement test, you will be informed on 21 August 2026 whether you can enroll with us or whether you will be assigned a course place directly at the VWU (Vienna University Preparation Programme).

20 August – 4 September 2026

Do you want to register for a German course at ZIB Training? 

Here you can find all the steps - simply explained:



1. fill out the registration form.

Enter all your personal details correctly in the form below.


2. upload required documents.

Without these documents, we cannot register you for the course.


3. we check your documents.

You will receive an email with further information.


4. come to ZIB Training.

You will take the placement test and receive all course information.

Please come to Gudrunstraße 11, 1st floor, 1100 Vienna. 


5. pay for your course.

Payment is only possible on-site. You can pay with

  • VISA / V PAY,
  • mastercard,
  • Bank card (maestro),
  • Apple Pay,
  • Google Pay,
  • or in cash (no 500 EURO bills)
    • .

You will receive an invoice by email after registration.


6. COMPLETE YOUR ADMISSION TO THE UNIVERSITY.

Use the registration confirmation from ZIB Training to enroll at your university.
There, you must pay the ÖH fee and you will receive your student ID number (Matrikelnummer).
